On Wednesday 2nd of September, I was dropping my child off to Montessori. It was her first week. We were all very, very excited.
Anyway, as I'm doing the hand off, my phone started vibrating like mad. The type of vibrating of a phone that you see in a film before the protagonist is on the news for some major reveal. 'Have I been unmasked Spiderman?' I quickly thought? I jumped into the car to a flurry of orders. I stuck the radio on and when it came back from a song, Dave Moore was running a segment about the Emergency Angelus.

How I got there
The week previous, I had entered Dave's Music Master competition, which I won. It was about love songs and I got very lucky with the questions. 'Finish the lyric by Madness' was one. I didn't have the balls to show my musical knowledge and show off that it was actually a Labi Siffre song, you know.
Anyway, in the intro to the segment Dave was asking what I was at today. I told him that I was going full time with my own business and that I was about to launch the Emergency Angelus, which made him laugh. I said I'd send him one and I did.
Clearly, he loved it!

The Impact
As mentioned previously, I've recently gone full time with deadly.ie. So this came at the perfect time. Sales skyrocketed. My phone vibrated so much that it died from notifications. Which, let's be honest, is unbelievable carry on.
I'd planned to spend the day sorting out Barcodes for my suppliers, but I spent the whole day just packing keyrings and pins. It was a great feeling.
My aunties said that we could jump on this further and get onto Liveline. They said they'd pretend to be outraged nuns and it'd get a second lease of life. I didn't have the manpower for that.
I sold over 100 on the day of the show itself. It's kept selling since then too, though with a notable fall off since the highs of the show.
Radio Ads
Makes me wonder if I should invest in radio advertising.
