Triskelion Pin

The Triskelion is synonymous with Ancient Irish Art. It’s most famously visible at Newgrange where it is carved into the Entrance Stone. It’s discovery by Professor Michael J O’Kelly led him to investigate Newgrange during the Winter Solstice, and the rest is literally history. Much of what we know and love about ancient Irish history can be attributed to the Triskelion.

This piece was also inspired by Blindboy’s episode, ‘The Story of Saint Patrick’, where he muses that the Triskelion came to be when some lads ate a load of mushrooms, looked at Shamrocks and created the Triskelion. It’s well, well worth a listen.
